The study determined principals’ adversity quotient as a predictor of administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria. The study was guided by two research questions, and two null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. A correlational research design was adopted for the study. The study population comprised 274 principals from 274 public secondary schools in Anambra State. Census sampling technique was used to ensure that all 274 principals participated in the study because of the relatively small and manageable size. Two sets of instruments titled ‘‘Principals’ Adversity Quotient Questionnaire (PAQQ)” and “Administrative Effectiveness Questionnaire (AEQ)’’ were used for data collection. Three experts face-validated the instruments: two from the Department of Educational Management and Policy and one from the Department of Educational Foundations in the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The Cronbach alpha method was used to test the instruments' internal consistency, yielding overall coefficients of 0.80 for PAQQ and 0.84 for AEQ, respectively. The researcher, together with five research assistants, collected data using the direct approach method, and a 97% return rate was recorded. Simple regression was used to answer the research questions and test hypotheses. The study’s findings revealed, among other things, that adversity control and endurance are strong, significant predictors of administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria. Based on the findings, the study recommended, among others, that the Ministry of Education use social media to sensitize and raise awareness of the need for principals to continually exhibit adversity endurance to enhance their administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools.
